Occupational Therapists work with many different types of patients including injured workers, children, and older adults. Occupational Therapists treat a broad spectrum of conditions including work-related injuries, traumas, amputations, injured tendons, neurological conditions, carpal tunnel syndrome, and more.
Typically, an Occupational Therapist will combine clinical strengthening and stretching techniques in conjunction with simulated work and activities of daily living as part of the therapy process. These “real world” activities are used to better enable a patient to return to work and everyday life. Occupational Therapists also have advanced training in fabricating custom splints to help protect patients throughout their recovery process.
