STAR Partners with Communities to Make Wishes Come True

STAR Partners with Communities to Make Wishes Come True

“We grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy.” — Make-A-Wish® Mission

Every year, STAR Physical Therapy partners with our local communities on an initiative to raise awareness and funding for a wonderful local cause. In past years, we have partnered to help women’s health organizations, men’s health causes, the Wounded Warriors Foundation, and the Arthritis Foundation just to name a few.  This year, we were honored to work with Make-A-Wish Middle Tennessee to make wishes come true for children with life-threatening illnesses.  We are proud to announce that the generosity and hard work of our staff, our patients, and our local communities have made it possible for 2 wishes to be granted locally!

We began this initiative in June. Each of our STAR clinics started with a blank collection can and chose its own theme to decorate the can to begin fundraising for Make-A-Wish Middle Tennessee. Clinics were also able to sell limited edition STAR / Make-A-Wish t-shirts to raise funds and awareness. Many clinics added their own, unique fundraising events as well including bake sales, partnering with local Chick-fil-A restaurants who very kindly donated a portion of their profits to the cause, etc.

The wishes that will be granted through our initiative will have a significant positive impact on the lives of two children and their families.

  • 89% of healthcare professionals believe that wish kids’ physical health improves after their wish experience.
  • Wish kids often experience an escape from a feeling of isolation and a reduction in fear in their daily lives.
  • 99% of parents report the wish experience increased their child’s happiness.
  • 96% of parents report the wish experience strengthened their family.

We are incredibly thankful to all of our employees, patients, physician partners, and members of the local community who worked so hard and gave all they could to make these wishes come true!
