Haiti Mission Trip Reflection – Angel Shipman

Words cannot begin to express how blessed I am to have been given the opportunity to go on this Mission Trip to Thomazeau, Haiti. This has truly been a dream of mine for a long time and God answered my prayers by making this trip possible. When I arrived in Haiti, I was full of anticipation and excitement for what awaited me. I was met by a group of 100 kids who sang to me, smiled and hugged me and made me feel so at home. I was overjoyed to see these kids and this community smiling and praising God despite their circumstances. My heart was completely touched and this has given me a new outlook on life. I realize that it is not about me, but about trusting in God and seeking his will for my life. I have realized that through me, God’s light can shine, even in the darkest places and bring about change that is only possible through belief and trust in Jesus.

I am so blessed to work for a company that believes in missions! I am so blessed that of all of the applicants, I got chosen because this is the place that God wanted me to be. Thank you STAR for this amazing opportunity and for changing my life! Ephesians 2:10 “For we are his creation, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time so that we should walk in them.”
