Last week, God opened my eyes to true poverty and oppression when I went to serve in Haiti. The children we worked with and the people we met are starving and have nothing. They sleep in shacks made of tin and sticks on dirt floors. They have no idea where their next meal will come from. Young children are taking care of even younger children. Children are abandoned and become orphans because their parents cannot provide for them. Children with disabilities are shunned and left to fend for themselves. There is disease and no medical care. Live Beyond is doing incredible work in Thomazeau, Haiti, providing food, education, medical care and most importantly, spreading the word of God and adding new Christian warriors to the kingdom. Thanks to STAR Physical Therapy for allowing some of us to be a part of that care by utilizing our physical therapy skills. Working with Johnny’s kids (kids with disabilities) was amazing! These kids are incredibly strong and loving. What an opportunity it was to get to love on them! And the best part was witnessing two of these special kids be baptized after accepting Jesus into their hearts. Words cannot express how grateful I am to have been chosen to participate in this mission.
I will be forever changed!
