Many orthopedic injuries of the hand and upper extremities are complex and require specialized therapeutic care. STAR Physical Therapy employs a team of Occupational Therapists and Hand Therapists to provide you with the specialized care you require in a convenient location.
Occupational Therapists work with many different types of patients including injured workers, children and older adults. Occupational and Hand Therapists treat a broad spectrum of conditions including work related injuries, traumas, amputations, injured tendons, neurological conditions, carpal tunnel syndrome and more.
Typically, an Occupational Therapist will combine clinical strengthening and stretching techniques in conjunction with simulated work and activities of daily living as part of the therapy process. These “real world” activities are used to better enable a patient to return to work and everyday life. Occupational Therapists and Hand Therapists also have advanced training in fabricating custom splints to help protect patients throughout their recovery process.
